Creating Alaina and Shane’s wedding invitations and day-of stationery was a true joy from start to finish. Their wedding aesthetic centered around subtle elegance, a perfect reflection of their refined taste and warm personalities. Alaina envisioned something that would quietly wow guests the moment their invitations arrived, a suite that felt soft, sophisticated, and intentional in every detail.

Crafting a Suite of Soft Warmth and Modern Touches

To bring Alaina’s vision to life, I combined tactile and visual elements that balanced tradition and modern design. We used deckled edge paper to create that romantic, handcrafted texture, while embossed details added a layer of understated luxury. A vellum overlay softened the design, giving the suite an ethereal quality that caught the light beautifully. The result was a collection that felt timeless and modern, delicate yet full of presence.

Designing Together — From Afar

Since Alaina was out of town during much of the process, I had the pleasure of working closely with her wonderful parents, Carrie and Thom, to bring everything together. They were truly a dream to collaborate with: kind, attentive, and always ready with thoughtful feedback. Our design meetings often turned into long, enjoyable chats about the wedding, family, and everything in between. It was one of those projects where the personal connections became just as special as the final designs.

A Coordinated Celebration

For the wedding day itself, we extended the stationery design through every detail of the celebration. One standout element was the champagne wall, a chic display featuring seating chart cards slotted into each glass, making for an elegant yet interactive moment as guests found their seats. The coordinating signage and menus tied everything together beautifully, right down to the wax seal colors that corresponded with each guest’s meal choice. A thoughtful touch that combined practicality with beauty.
